    Interior Light Problem

Hey All, I have an interesting problem with my 2006 Mazda5. When I open any door the dome light over the second row comes on as expected but the map lights in the front row do not. If you press the button for each of the map lights they also come on as expected so the problem is not the bulbs...

A better way to keep the rear window clear?

The last time I replaced the rear wiper I was in a bit of a pinch so I bought the 12A replacement assembly from Canuck Tire. I pulled the blade out, replaced just the rubber portion on the car and tossed the rest (including the metal stiffeners) I seem to recall there being a post somewhere...

A better way to keep the rear window clear?

I use Rain-X on my windshield and front driver/passenger windows. Does a great job there. I've used it in past on the rear window but as others mentioned it'll only help with rain, not any of the crud that the rear of these vehicles like to attract. Since we're mentioning the rear wiper, make...

    I'm done

vBulletin is the software that is being used for the forum. It is a pay-for-use software and is customizable. I can't remember if version vBulletin 4 supports it but others support multiple "skins" so each user can select from a list in their user profile. I can't find that selection anywhere so...

My 08 Mazda5 is eating headlight bulbs.

Canadian (Read DRL's) '06 with 60,000Km, mostly city driving and no problems with any of the bulbs in the car yet. I've got a dead mosquito trapped on the inside of one of the map lights but that's another story :) +1 for replacing head lamp bulbs in pairs. I'll replace a brake or indicator...

Roof Rack For The Mazda5 Thread

The 3080 was created as a replacement of the 3069. Since I imagine that the OEM rack was created back when the 5 was new the 3069 kit is probably going to be closer to what you currently have. I haven't managed to find any pictures of the 3069 kit.

Roof Rack For The Mazda5 Thread

The OEM rack is made by Thule. You should be able to just purchase another foot kit for the Thule rack ($60 -$70) and get your rack back up and working. I'm not sure which foot kit (3069 or 3088) you would want to get get although I guess you could just replace the rubber on all four corners if...

    Car Seat problems

The car seat I have fits fine in rear-facing mode with the passenger seat in a mid-ish position. Only problem: They don't make it anymore. It's a Cosco brand car seat and it's about as basic as you can get in a front/rear facing car seat and it's good from 5 lbs. You may be able to find...

    Car Seat problems

How heavy is your tot? I've got a "convertible" rear/front facing car seat that shouldn't have any problems but I'll have to check. I'll get the name while I'm at it. I'm pretty sure any child in this kind of seat needs to be over a certain weight which is why I ask.

What have you done to your Mazda5 today?

I have to admit I hate the Yaris but I wouldn't throw out an Echo if you gave it to me. A friend of mine has one and while it looks like a clown car when he gets in (6'5") he fits without any problems and he can get two of his kids in the back. He keeps hoping it'll die some day but I don't...

    5MT shift points

I've tried shifting at various RPM's to try to get the best fuel economy. By far, shifting at ~2,200 RPM (with the exception of 1st) gives me the best results. I've tried revving the engine slightly higher with constant throttle (basically just shifting later) to see if I was "lugging" the...

    Post pics of your Mazda5

You might have typo'd but I thought I'd mention that 205/50R16 is pretty small for this vehicle. (205/55R16 is standard) I don't think you mentioned it but if you've already lowered your vehicle you might need to bill your municipality for clearing the roads of snow for them :p Not to mention...

Throttle body failure - not covered by warranty?!

You'd need an OBD-II scanner. Chances are that the code has already been cleared. If your Check Engine Light (CEL) is still on then either get yourself a scan tool (doesn't need to be anything fancy), borrow one or get a garage to check the code for you. I'd recommend getting the tool unless you...

Roof Rack For The Mazda5 Thread

When I looked at the Thule options they have a plastic insert that goes where the lock would go to make sure the rack components stay in the right place. The insert just pulls right out. The advantage of the lock is that you need a key to get the insert out thus making it much harder to steal...

Roof Rack For The Mazda5 Thread

Thule and Yakima do not come with locks by default. I believe the OEM rack comes with locks and I know the Inno comes with locks. Since a pack of 4 locks is normally around $50 this can add up.

Kia Rondos Demise In USA: Can Small People Movers Sell Here?

If a journalist has said it there's a number of people who will take it as gospel and not even think about it. For example I had to give a friend a ride to pick up her computer. Upon getting in the car she asked "What car is this?" I told her it was a 5 and she admitted that she'd read about it...
