    Rear lateral links

I bent my rear, passenger-side lateral link accidentally on the rear suspension. Do any of you have any idea if the bar can be removed and de-bent back into place? If not, are there are aftermarket bars that aren't 58 bucks for a hollow cast iron tube from a dealership? Appreciate the responses...

Got hit from the rear :[

I am going to be blunt here: good friend or not, it's his fault. He was driving a car. He should have at least basic liability insurance. That's what it exists for. Go to a body shop, get an estimate, and have the insurance pay for it. Also, I cannot believe you were not stupid enough to A)...

    My 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air

And she's home! As you can see, between today and whenever the last update was, a grille got [lightly] hammered in. It still looks like it wants to eat people, though. At any rate, now my '55 can play and frolic in my garage instead of some other guy's garage. With the car being so much...

    My 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air

You got it, freekwonder. Nice Datsun btw. I saw a 510 go at it in the 24 Hours of LeMons. Brilliant car until it exploded.

    My 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air

Good progress has been made! I started by grabbing some stuff of Danchuk. I already tried Eckler's Classic Chevy and their $15 shipping for an incredibly small part (fuel sender) wasn't working for me. Thankfully, Danchuk knows how to make a piece and not only that, the shipping was half as...

    My New 79 camaro!

Is that car a California car? I think Z28s had 175hp only in California. If it's not a CA car, it should have 185hp (if I remember correctly).

    My New 79 camaro!

Honestly, 3" pipes are not a good idea for a puny (sorry, but it is) 305. 1 1/2", maybe 1 5/8" headers with 2", 2 1/2" exhaust (per side, use a crossover point) are all you will need. I have the exact same engine my car right now, with a 350 sitting outside, and I'll only be using 2" exhausts at...

    My New 79 camaro!

Couple of suggestions for you. Being a fellow Chevy owner ('55 Bel Air), there are a few books to pick up and a whole lot of great online resources. First, for books. Motorbook Workshop makes two books that are more or less exactly the same. "How to Restore Your Muscle Car" and "How to Restore...

Unusually High RPMs On Protege 5?

I've run my P5 at redline for an hour with no ill effects (yay track days!). The engines are stout, hearty things. I wouldn't worry about it, except for fuel economy.

In which case you'd be right, ignore the other person. Mopar=Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth/Jeep/maybe DeSoto.

    09 Ms3 Vs 09 Wrx

Only the 2002's 1st gear can get munched. They fixed that in later iterations. The MS3 is torque-steer with a capital TORQUE STEER. That much power should not be channeled through the front wheels. Nicer interior, better mileage, but still front wheel drive. Depends whether you like it or not...

    Non Interference Motor??

This. ^ It's not hard to do the timing belt install yourself, either. Grab the service manual and read it. Really really easy to do if you have a bunch of hours. It can all be done with hand tools, too.

    Manual Transmission going...replacement options?

All Proteges have a pretty close-ratio gear box. Check out this thread though: http://www.msprotege.com/vbb225/showthread.php?t=123618318&highlight=5th+gear+kit The people wondering if it changes 1st gear or reverse gears are stupid, ignore them. They don't know how a manual transmission works.

    Most Effective GTSPEC part

The GTSpec parts are designed to reduce chassis flex. During normal street driving, your chassis flex will not be severe enough (or severe at all) for a GTSpec part to make any sort of difference. In fact, it adds weight. The best performance mod you can do are a few since you don't autocross...

    My Civic Si Build

There are a few good ones. 5th and 6th gen Civics are good if you can deal with front wheel drive (I can't, I hate it). Miatas are popular. E30 BMWs are great too. Another hot little car is the Datsun 240/260/280Z. All great cars with tremendous possibilities for modding. Make sure you can...

Project Angry Pirate E30 (yarrrr mateys...)

Check out grassroots motorsports. They love their E30s. Their classifieds also usually have a billion E30/E36/M parts for sale for pretty solid prices and some real BMW wizards post there.
