In case anyone from this discussion 8 years ago cares, I still have my MS3 (bought it shortly after the above discussion), don't regret that I bought it, and it is paid off since 2013. I always meant to come back to this discussion at some point and provide some closure, and I finally remember...

I had been driving on a family member's stick for a few months, but I had heard the speed3 had a tricky clutch and whatnot, so I got someone else to drive it home for me also :p The difference is if I HAD to get it home I surely could have. You chose a difficult car to learn on haha.

Quite a nice car, although I'm surprised you bought a stick without having any experience on one. How did you even get it home? I'd be annoyed about that logo on the bottom left of the rear door.

How accurate is the trip computer's estimate of miles remaining? I've gotten it down to ~7 miles before, but never lower. Someone I know with a different type of car told me it was actually very accurate... like they ran it down to 0 and stalled immediately.

The order of google results will be different for different people if they have google accounts active so you should probably give more details when asking someone to google for a specific hit.

I'm not sure if it's absent in your gen2, but in my gen1 I started by putting in a boost gauge. It's a fair bit of work though (fortunately there are guides).

Yes, I acquired them (was a bit of a pain since they are often out of stock apparently). I bought the necessary wires and connectors (I hope) today so I'll have to wait until next weekend to get the illumination working. Hopefully running the wires behind the center console isn't too bad...

I ran the hose through the firewall and installed the vent pod. The gauge seems to be working well. I have not run the wires to the fuse box yet.

Does moving the front license plate like you did make a measurable difference?

I put the T into the hose going to the bypass valve, and tested out the boost gauge. Everything seems to be working well. Next I will have to mount the gauge inside the car, which is the hard part. Getting the tubing they provide on to the base of the T was a big pain in the ass!

What about the radiator hoses? How long do they last?

Looks brand new. I like the wheels.

I went ahead and ordered this mechanical boost gauge... no reason to spend three times that to make it match a little more cosmetically. While I'm waiting I assessed what tools I have and took a look where everything is in the car. I might need a chiropractor on retainer after repeatedly...

All right sounds like the mechanical is a better bet. We almost have enough for a Jericho Turnpike meetup at this point.

5port is that the 'clear electrical boost' gauge? I'm debating between what you have (not on the steering wheel though) and spending more for a gauge that I can make look more stock: I can even get the silver layer behind the red tick marks put in for like an extra $10 It's that vs this for...

Yea get someone to snap a picture of that at night... probably stands out like crazy.
