    Lighter = Faster (RX-7 Build #2)

(Re)subbing. Awesome build. I'll miss the red car but the silver should definitely work out better for you!

How To: Remove/Install Tranny and LSD or disassemble gears

Great thread. I used it to install my MFactory diff. I did not take apart the 1-2 and 3-4 shift forks. You can take both gear stacks and the shift rod out as a unit and put it back in the same way. Make sure you have a pick holding the spring for the shifter detent ball when you remove...

What is your long term fuel trim LTFT @ WOT? Is your overpressure set to 0?

In theory you could us the -001 for open loop tuning. If you picked up a MAP based 02 clamp (such as Flying Miata's clamp); you could set the 02 clamp for a certain pressure (0.5psi would be good) then used the psc1 to tune open loop from 0.5psi up. This is what split second psc1-020 does.

Love your build! I don't run straight E85 but I have run a 50/50 mix of 91/E85 on my MSP for about the past 1.5 years without issue. I started at 1/3 E85 2/3 91 but mixing was a pain so I went to 50/50 after a few months (also I had slight knock on my J&S Safeguard with that mixture.) At 11...

You can tune an NA car with the SSAFC the same way you would tune an MSP. What would would want to change is your Over Pressure and possibly your Output B settings. Set your Over Pressure to 0 or lower. This will force the car into open loop at wide open throttle and let you tune your car...

You know you are driving an MSP when...

Better. They handle much, much better than a P5. A P5 is a fun, responsive car. An MSP begs you to to push it, especially in the twisties!

^This. ABS cars get the speed from the wheel sensor. Non-ABS cars get the signal from the VSS in the trans. You need to stay with the system that your car originally had.

    Installshield's NA Build

I have a couple autometer mechanical gauges so my wiring is just for the lighting. Since you don't have a dedicated ground wire for the lighting you won't able to used the Protege's dimmer to control the brightness. If you were to use the Protege dimmer you would connect ground wire to the...

Can I change the Idle on P5?

I check with both torque and my innova scan tool. They both read the same. My P5 reads 0-100% but the MSP reads 10-86% on both tools. I'm chasing a random misfire code on the P5 right now. When I'm done with that I'll ohm check the TPS on my MSP.

New to site... problem with 626 engine swap.

Are you reving the engine in neutral? If so you will not build boost and can not test your wga that way. You really need a boost gauge (if you don't have one already) and to go drive the car. Be gentle getting into boost and back off if you go over 7 psi or so.

Can I change the Idle on P5?

Whoa. I thought I had replied to you before I got involved with the P5 timing belt. I get 0 to 100% TPS on the P5 in Torque and on my stand alone scan tool. On the MSP I read 10 to 86% on both tools. I'm wondering if I have an issue on my MSP or if MSP's are just wierd. The best bet is to...

New to site... problem with 626 engine swap.

It won't run on one cylinder. The plugs often come out very dark because the stock tune is so rich. You're issue is going to be that one cylinder that doesn't have a black plug. Btw the cylinders are numbered starting at the one closest to the belts. #1 is on the passenger side; #4 is on the...

    New slotted rotors

I should clarify on the Stoptechs. They did have L and R stickers on them but if you read the note in the box it tells you that their solid rotors and their rotors with straight vanes are bi-directional. Only the rotors with swept vanes are directional.

    Boost question

You have to buy the PSC1 020 for the MSP. Make sure you get the right one. PG and CR3 have what you need.

    New slotted rotors

^^ This. For my stoptech slotted rotors the vanes in the rotor are straight so they can be installed either way. Stoptech was nice enough to include a note with the rotors giving you details on how to tell which way the slots need to face.
