I'm having the same issue. Brake and ABS lights come on occasionally, usually when I'm just starting out in the morning. It happened after I had the brake pads changed at a local garage. I suspect a faulty ABS sensor or connection to the sensor, because it seems to go away after the car warms up.

My manual has duplicate sections for FS and ZM models. What's the difference?

Just found the same problem on my 02 P5 with 180,000 on it.

Figured it out, thanks to pro2002 in another thread. I've got a cracked tube between the MAF and the throttle body. Put some tape over it (for now) and the hesitation went away. Reset the check engine light and it hasn't come back on.
