And do you think that it would be be better to pull the intake manny and take a look or do you think that I should pull the valve cover and take a look in there?? Or maybe even both?? I was planning on pulling the intake manny off today regarless to check the butterfly valve for the VICS...

    Rod replacement

Yeah, that does make sense that it would run like crap (if even at all). I'll have to try to find that VIN number recall list... The oil light has been on, but the oil was VERY low from the guy I bought it from, but after I changed my oil and ran new oil through it, it never came on again...

    Rod replacement

It will do it whenever I start it now, right when the engine turns over and it will get up to about 2k and then once it drops back down to about 1100 or 1200 at idle, it seems to go away. But when you put a load on it when you're driving it will start just under 3k and usually all the way until...

    Rod replacement

Hey guys, I've been having the same problem that I've seen on here, and I've only found one thread that actually sounds like what is happening to my P5. I think that one of my rods may be knocking due to it being bent. I'm not sure what else it could be and I can't find any thread on here that...

    Burning/Losing Oil

I think that's exactly what's happening to my P5. I just changed my oil and filter a week ago at most, and now I'm border-line dry on the stick. I can't find a leak anywhere, but the tip of my exhaust is thick black just on the inside, and it seems to be speckling the back hatch. You think the...

    Rim paint suggestions??

I was thinking about painting my rims that I have on my car white. How would you guys suggest that I go about it? What would I need to do it? And most importantly, would it look good? <a href="http://a518.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/31/l_e5010c470413d77c8dce3a89730ec4bd.jpg">Here is a...

Soft brakes after brake pads replacement

It definitely sounds like you've got some air bubbles that got into your system somehow. The same thing happened to me when I took the calipers off to paint them. You just need to bleed your whole system and run some fresh fluid through there.

squeaking at 95,000 miles, bad pulley bearings?

Precision is always the key right? :) That does make perfect sense though.

squeaking at 95,000 miles, bad pulley bearings?

Oh, okay! That makes perfect sense!! Thanks!! I'm going to go try and adjust them right now. The same to alternator and water pump?

squeaking at 95,000 miles, bad pulley bearings?

Is it so that the belt should be able to move about an 1/8" but no more?

squeaking at 95,000 miles, bad pulley bearings?

Sorry, I really don't know what I'm doing here. New to all of this. :S What do you mean by an 1/8" Deflection? I'm not sure what to measure.

squeaking at 95,000 miles, bad pulley bearings?

I just tightened them wih a rachet. I was going to torque them, but I wan't sure it needed it and I couldn't get a torque wrench in there to tighten them anyway. :S Is there a specific way that I should tighten them??

squeaking at 95,000 miles, bad pulley bearings?

I'm not positive, I've done some tweaking to them a couple of times. I replaced both of the stock belts with the Gatorback Poly-V. I think I just might need to tighten them up since they've probably stretched since the install.

That actually sounds like a good idea. Thanks for the tip!

squeaking at 95,000 miles, bad pulley bearings?

I think mine's a little different than that. It usually only does it when the car is cold, before it's been warmed up. It doesn't do it after it's been warmed up. And it does it the worst when it's really cold outside.

squeaking at 95,000 miles, bad pulley bearings?

My MP5 started squeaking at about 95,000 miles. I already replaced the alternator and water pump belts, and the squeaking still persists. I'm thinking that the bearings in those pulleys are going bad. Does anyone know anything about this or know where I can get some new, nice pulleys to replace...

    Cheap P5 exhaust?

Anyone know where to find a cheap, but nice exhaust for an 02 P5? I would really like it to have a flame-treated tip, but not necessary. Oh, And I wouldn't mind finding some headers that would match up with the exhaust nicely. Thanks for all your input.

    Power steering belt install

Definitely worth not spending the money! It took me almost three hours to change it, just because I had no clue what I was doing, but totally worth it. I think I need to loosen up the alternator belt though. It almost feels like I sinched them up a little too tight and now when I slow down...
