Hard to get in to 2nd gear...

Mine has started to miss second and grind. I have to shift slow and methodical to prevent it. Not always easy, when trying to merge. I'm taking it in next week.

    Mazda 5 Turbo

I'm single with no kids. I needed a vehicle with a manual that offered me utility while being fun to drive. The ability to 'hot rod' it was important as well. So yes, I'm just like you in that I bought the car for my needs. But my needs are not at all like yours. So stay to the right and don't...

    Mazdaspeed Springs and Dampers

Thanks. Day to day it's very drivable. It's a 'tuned' ride. Stiffer, but not overly stiff. It's more responsive for sure. More power? It sounds like there is more power under wot! (drive2)

    Mazdaspeed Springs and Dampers

The JDM Mazdaspeed damper for the Mazda5 and Mazda3, share the same part number as the US Mazdaspeed Mazda3 damper. I think a better guess would be that they were designed to work with the slightly lower Mazdaspeed springs.

    Mazdaspeed Springs and Dampers

Dampers are the same p/n and the springs are different. At least in the '07 JDM catalog. I'm not sure about the '08 catalog. The Mazdaspeed dampers are the same part numbers, so I'd assume they are the same length. You could check the parts department and if the stock ones share the same p/n...

    Who has 18's?

Pirelli P-Zero Nero 225/40-18. Rides and handles excellent. Needs to be wider to protect the rim from the curb.

    Who's Running M3 Springs on Their M5?

The rear might be slightly off-camber, but I haven't given it much concern and the tires aren't showing any wear.

    Who's Running M3 Springs on Their M5?

About .75. I really didn't measure the before and after though. It's firm, without being harsh. And I don't have to worry about scraping driveways.

    Finally TSX out 5 in!

Well my bolt on suspension and intake (as opposed to a welded on suspension and intake?) enabled my wagon to gain on him on the on-ramp as we entered the freeway. And he's the one who initiated that 'race'. I could have completed a pass had there been an outside lane. And like some of you, he...

    Finally TSX out 5 in!

That's not what happened. Try to pay attention. I was behind him pressing him coming onto the freeway and quickly moved to the HOV lane as we mereged, beating him there. He quickly followed me and was he was tail gating me at 80mph. When the broken lines appeared, he jumped out and passed me...

    Who's Running M3 Springs on Their M5?

I went JDM Mazda5 Mazdaspeed springs with USDM Mazda3 (JDM Mazda5) Mazdaspeed dampers. It's perfect for me. It gave me the performance and the real world drivability that I was seeking.

    Tein S-Tech springs on Mazda5?

90% of the people who lower their cars, do so for looks and not performance (lowered automatics anyone?). I'd also venture to guess that less than 5% of Mazda5 owners actually push their car's to the point that the MZ3 vs MZ5 springs would be noticable. Where this would most likely be noticed...

I bought the Mazda5 BECAUSE it came with a manual. I never would have looked at it otherwise.

    Finally TSX out 5 in!

Then you should have been in my passenger seat so you could witnessed it! By the time I made the decision to accelerate and pass him, there was nothing he could do. I already had the momentum. He was trying to prevent me from passing him, which in all of motorsports is called racing. If it was...
