To check on your firmware version, select, settings from main screen/system, scroll down to About and click that, system settings page appears, on version information the following appears: OS version 51.00.300, music database 00.04.00, and Fail Safe version 51.00.300.

Ok thanks, i see there is a 'traffic history' setting which was not selected....I selected (check marked) it maybe it will learn, or that feature will be activated? I will add that update to my oil change appointment in August.

Just curious, when was your car 'build date' (shown on the drivers side door jam) next to the tire pressure sticker, mine is 12/14. And is there a TSB,-(tech service bulletin) from Mazda on this problem...so i can reference it to my dealer. Where did you find out about the firmware-was it online...

A few comments that might help? 1. check your first character in your cars VIN number-if it's 'J' the car was made in Japan, otherwise it was made in Mexico. 2. You might have a corrupt SD card or file-or bad GPS unit, ask your dealer to check those for you. And 3. I noticed on your video...

No problems here, it is better then the tom tom i had in my previous CX-5. I always go differently from what the directions are, just to see if it re-calculates properly. But then again, I don't have any lakes nearby either. :)

One thing I find annoying --you can't change the nav voice from female to male, all other nav systems I have ever had included this feature..hopefully they will add it in a upcoming nav update. And the voice only comes from the drivers side speaker, not both front dash speakers. If that speaker...

Go into sounds settings, and increase the nav volume to hear the voice louder. I increased mine, but just slightly. It also automatically decreases any other audio volumes that are playing, such as radio,CD player- those levels are restored once the nav is done speaking. And in mine at least...

You can reset the view to 2D, but it look somewhat 'flat'

All the nav information SD cards, be it tom tom, or Navteq are tied to the cars VIN number, and 'Will Not' work in any other car. This according to Mazda service techs.

Checked thru the Connect settings today, and found live traffic check marked in my unit..i also turned on speed cameras alerts while i was browsing. It has tons of restaurants, gas stations, and other things you can select. Did not see any way of changing the nav.voice -which i find strange...

I had read or heard, that Mazda will be updating the Connect system, since its being used on Mazda 6 and 3 plus the CX-5, hopefully some of the 'add' features will be a few of the features that were on the NB1.

In the 2016 CX-5 gt nav system, how can I change the voice from female, to male? Have not seen any indication anywhere, here, or in the manual, how to make a change? Any 16' owners have an answer? TIA

If this has been posted before -forgive the repeat...but the touch screen can 'NOT' be used to make changes when driving in the 2016 CX-5, you must use the console. You can only use the touch screen, when the car is stopped, this includes repeat, shuffle etc. which is located across the...
