Try the new 2013 Ford Escape and compare to the CX-5. I find it significantly quieter at anything over 40mph. I'm comparing diesel variants. It is not worth my while commenting on low speed noise comparisons because engine noise begins to take over in diesels.

Don't believe all you find in forums. Yes Mazda are rolling out an ecu update aimed at resolving the issue. I'll let those awaiting the update decide on whether or not they consider it a fix.

You've gotto be kidding..... my diesel CX-5 is generating oil like a perpetual oil generating machine........ the oil level just keeps on rising!

1300 miles on my diesel cx-5. Oil level right where it was on the day I bought it. I too was concerned prior to purchase but my driving style/profile does not result this far in any rising oil levels. Really enjoying the car.

I searched and it access to the stereo diagnostics menu is gained by pressing the Power/Volume button and the Seek Up button together. (Press the Power/Volume button slightly earlier) Hope this helps
