Are you getting the 430 miles range claimed by Mazda after filling up?

So what is the usable tank capacity? Not that it's a measure I've ever seen this for a car but it's commonly referenced with planes, where running out of fuel can be more than a mere inconvenience. (I'm not sure I want to know, I'm one of those who somehow thinks you can put off fueling up, ad...

    Breaking Windshields

I'm the one who cracked the first windshield at the three week mark, though we did find the initial impact point, which was really just a pinhead, but overnight..a 14" long crack opened. The rock hit on the ay HOME from having a new Mazda windshield installed...that one was repaired and so far...

    CX-5 Cargo Mat

Well darn: I was sure I'd seen some place advertising a heavy (rubber-ish) matting, that did somehow protect the backs of the back seat when they were dropped. The material on those backs (and in the rear cargo area) is the only chintzy thing I've found on the car, and they do feel as if they...

GT worth the extra cost? Having a hard time justifying it

I went with the Touring, because I simply wan't moved by anything that the GT added. But this is something that no one ele can answer for you: what matters to me, and is worth extra $$$, has nothing to do with what someone else thinks is worth their $$$$.

    CX-5 Fuel economy

At 2,000 miles, and four weeks, the computer (and my own math) says 30.3 mpg and an average speed of 43. About half that mileage is interstate, rolling at 75-80. I'm really bipolar driving this car: on long, boring stretches, I turn it over to the cruie control, on roads that are more fun, I...

Windshield stress crack at three weeks? (And total blow off from dealer's service pe

Okay, well CX5Dude, I'd say your luck was worse than mine EXCEPT they put in the new windshield yesterday (it took a while, and a lot of $$$ it seems, to get one from mazda), and on my way home, THUNK!, rock to the windshield, and a chip out of the world's shiniest new windshield. It's tiny...

Let's take a poll: what colour is your CX-5?

White/sand. It has only taken me fifty years of owning only black cars to accept that nope..I cannot or will not keep on looking the ay it has to for black to relly ORK. (I live 9/10ths of a mile off paved road. And ahh..there is o gravel, either, I basically offroad every day just to get to...

Windshield stress crack at three weeks? (And total blow off from dealer's service pe

I hauled it to MY "glass guy"..no one, including my insurance company, had heard of Mazda's, and frankly, when I'm replacing a windshield on a car so new I still don't have the registration papers, I want to be able to have c something more than a cell phone number for the installer if problems...

Windshield stress crack at three weeks? (And total blow off from dealer's service pe

I did a thoroughly non-scientific "fingernail test" on the windshield, and the largest part of the crack is at the bottom of the windshield, at the upper end of the crack, can't feel a thing, no chip, no sign of any impact. Yes, I've had windshields crack before, but only on older cars, and...

Windshield stress crack at three weeks? (And total blow off from dealer's service pe

Hopped in my three week old 2014 Touring, after a night in the forties, highs today low sixties, and saw a 13-14" long straight crack dead in the middle of the windshield, running from the bottom up, with a 2" or so hook to the left at the top NO sign of any dings, and i'm the only driver...

blind spot monitor only works with headlights on

Same here, love not having to take my eyes off a heavy merge to make sure i"m not about to splat someone. The cabin BING only deploys when you use the turn signal, otherwise you'd be driven crazy on a busy highway.

MPG is no where close to what others are seeing

You could always try what my poor father tried to convince me to do when I learned to drive: drive as if you have a raw egg between your foot and the accelerator. Beyond boring, but it will help if top mpg is your goal.

    Autoguide.com CX-5 Review

One thing that got me looking at the CX-5 was that this one car manages to please both Consumer Reports...and Car and Driver.

    Almost had my 2014...

You know if you're happy with the car and your deal, that's all that really much matters. Some folks delight in rassling around on the show room floor with the salesperson to save the final quarter, others want to just get a reasonable price and get out of there. (I always reach a point of...

    Autoguide.com CX-5 Review

"There is no entry-level Sport trim for models equipped with the new 2.5-liter engine, meaning that at $26,660 for the Touring trim, it’s only about $2,000 more than a comparable 2.0-liter model." Ummm...where are these numbers coming from, any ideas?
