If your only reason for the mirror is the ability to lose your garage door opener then consider a Flash2Pass. I have one on both cars and my motorcycle, they work great. Installation is pretty simple and once its set up just two flashes of your high beams opens/closes the garage door.

I've been 'borrowing' the CX-5 from the wife this week and had some things to haul around. I used my small utility trailer and noticed the BSM was acting up a bit while driving today. It happened mostly on the drivers side (about 4-5 times) but did happen on the passenger side (maybe twice)...
