It's definitely available to add as a separate option (you don't need the full Tech package). In fact, you can buy it and install it yourself - there's a thread on one of the forums here that details how to do it.

Hmm, there's no reason why the price would go up. Like it or not, the dealers need to start selling the 2015 ones, so if anything the price for the 2014.5 ones will go down.

Car and Driver comparo in the latest issue (September 2012) - CX-5 beats 5 others (CR-V, Escape, RAV-4, Sportage, etc). Not online yet though.
