ZPS Build Thread

Congrats on the new car! Let's see it! Somehow I got James to change the trackday to the 15th, so looks like I'll be seeing you in march.

On the way home.

Yes I will be keeping the 2.... and the Miata....my wife is awesome.

ok so this past weekend we had another autocross with our local group. The car was awesome with the new springs. Very happy with it, just need the better front shocks.

Oh and even thought they have been delayed.....again I guess I will mention something since who knows when they will actually arrive, but I have ordered a set of 15X8 6UL's to use for the 2 and for the Miata. Probably going to run R888's on them at first. There is another track day on March 15th I am planning on going to with them.

Be sure to read up on the R888s. There are mixed reviews. The claim is the first couple laps are the fastest and they go down hill from there. I enjoyed the price/performance of the NT01. Sure you can get better R-comps, but they wear well. I use to run a 225/45/15 on my 95 miata.

I was originally thinking on getting the hankooks because they are cheap, but these are going to be track and autocross tires for multiple cars so if I can get some more tread and some more life it would be good. Plus this will be the first time I run on slicks in 6 years or so so I figure the first set will be gone through pretty quickly just getting used to driving on them again.

Nice 6UL. Is it the new 4 gen 15x8? They are crazy light for a cast wheel. I am considering getting a set if they bring a 15x7

Will there be any problems running the 15x8 at all? i know you run spacers but will they fit under normal conditions? They look cool

You need to let me know if you ever want to get rid of those. They would look perfect on the miata. Can't wait to see them on the 2. PM me if you didn't get an email from James about the RA track day in June.

I am going to keep these for a while because I might also try to use them on the RX7. They will be on the 2 for the May event. I also did vote that I would be able to go to the RA event.

No the FB is 4X114.3. I am planning on getting wheel adaptors for it for 2 reasons.

1. I can run 4X100 wheels which are much easier to find, Also I have bunch of sets already. My back up is my 15X7 team dynamics for the FB.
2. The FB runs lug bolts. No idea why mazda did that back then, but with the adaptors I can bolt them up and have studs which are a lot nicer and easier to use.

On a Mazda 2 note I just painted my axle back black. I like it a lot. I will try to get a picture of it up sometime soon.

It was nice out today and I had to swap wheels so I figured I would see what my 6UL's look like on the 2. Even though I don't have tires yet for them. Need to order them soon though.
