I noticed this a few weeks ago, when i back out of a parking spot and then crank the wheel the opposite direction and gas a little to pull out, I get a sticking/stumbling type of response. I give it a little gas and it "pops" free. its almost like the feeling you get with a brake pad stuck to the rotor, but I don't think thats the issue. It happens every time I crank the wheel to one side and accelerate slowly. its like a gear is missing a tooth or something..nothing is obviously wrong in the suspension areas, the gears on the ends of the axles look fine (nothing broken/missing). steering linkage or transfer case issue?

any ideas on what to check?

so 6 months later, i still have this problem. i've done the "super grease" steering column fix, which didn't help. i've swapped the passenger motor mount, which fixed my cold clunk issue, but not the one described here....i've read other threads that people have replaced all 6 control arms in similar situations...i don't want to do that unless i need too ($$).

anybody?
