Looks like I stuck these in the Protege forum by mistake earlier. Anyway...

Thanks to the help of this forum, and Antoine in particular, TrueDelta has another set of reliability survey results for the Mazda Protege and Protege5. These are for the year ending December 31, 2007.

For the 2002 Protege and Protege5, we received an average of 6.1 months of data on 25 cars, the minimum sample size for an official result. The stat of 39 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.4 per vehicle) is better than average for a 2002 model.

For the 2003 Protege and Protege5, we received an average of 7.9 months of data on 29 cars. The stat of 47 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.5 per vehicle) is better than average for a 2003 model.

The similarity of the two results suggests that they are accurate.

Everyone who has been helping out with this research, thanks, it literally wouldn't be possible without you. Those who aren't yet helping out, please consider doing so. Larger sample sizes would increase the accuracy of future results.
