MP3 springs on P5??

To buy or not to buy

I know this is an old thread, but I thought it was applicable to my current situation.

I'm looking to possibly lower my car, and a search has turned up someone in my area selling what appear to be a set of used MP3 or Mazdaspeed springs (is there a difference?) on Tokico blue struts. I haven't seen them in person, and the individual selling them doesn't seem to know very much (like how many miles or any other specifics). The thing is, he said he'd part with them for only $50 to make room in his garage. This seems like a pretty good deal to me, but I was wondering what anyone else thinks. I've attached the pictures of them that are posted online.

Thanks to everyone in advance for any help in this matter!

50 bucks for springs and struts!!! thats an insane good deal. shipping is going to be a b**** though. those struts arent light.

they seem to be in decent condition.

if i were in your situation, id go ahead and buy them. that would just be too good of a deal to pass up

Yah, I would definately go for it. They are the springs and struts off of the MSP. I am not sure if the MP3 came with Tokico struts. At any rate that is an amazing deal aspecially if you dont have to pay for shipping. Keep in mind those springs will only lower your car about 3/4", so if your looking for a lower drop I would sell those springs and get some better aftermarkets. Those struts alone are worth at least $50 a piece, so again definately buy these.

Got 'em

Thanks to everyone for their advice. I picked them up today, and although I don't know how many miles were put on them they seem to be in excellent condition. There's only one flaw I know of, and I was wondering if anyone can tell me if it's a big deal or not. The rubber piece that sits between the bottom of the spring and the strut on both front struts have small tears. Could this become a bigger issue when I put them on? (If you take a look at the close-up pic of what I posted earlier, you can make it out).

as long as they are small tears you shouldnt have any problems. mine look exactly the same. the ones on my moms protege with 165K miles look just like that. no worries.

now if the are torn in half, then yeah, youll need new ones. otherwise youre good
