HKS SQV VTA vs. Recirculate

I just had a HKS SQV v4 installed in my MSP and it's currently hooked up to VTA. I have the Injen CAI hooked up in SRI configuration, and the mechanic attached the recirculation line from the old, stock BPV directly. (so the intercooler recirculates to the hot side of the CAI directly with no BPV in the middle)

Is this the ideal way to run the HKS? I was under the impression that the best way for these cars with the MAF sensor was to get the recirc fitting for the HKS and run it as a BPV and not a VTA configuration. Any comments/suggestions from those of you running the HKS or a VTA configuration? I have the HKS mounted on the cold side of the intercooler before the throttle body and the MAF right after the intake filter on the hot side.

Move the MAF to the cold pipe after the BOV then you can run it VTA. Cap the BPV recirc fitting do not run a hose there
