Well for some of us who "knew" what that metal bracket was for and have tried to use it, it still has proven useless as it falls off... it takes me less time to gently let it hang than to "ensure" it wont pop off... may try the velcro as it isnt worth it to tell dealer my fuel door has a defect and it wont hold gas cap. Besides there is a remote chance in hell that its an IO error....

Its a overly waky design if you ask me... a simple U shape would have sufficed

good idea! I've given up on the door bracket because it always falls off and bangs the paint half way through a fill up.

Damn I've been doing it wrong the whole time! I thought the bracket went on top of that cap lip. I fail

I thought about just cutting the damn thing free so I can take the cap off and away from the paint. Anyone see any harm in that?

If you can't get your gas cap to attach to the fuel door with is suppose to be you = fail
