Gangstagangsta Build time!!

Ask Maxx Mazda how his 1.8l coil setup works on his car. IMO if he does not have issues than you should be fine.

Thats funny, I read a thread where Maxx was saying at higher PSI the 1.8l coil would not be beneficial. I am at work now so I cant dig up the thread but it was the one where he was going into dwell times and such of the coils. I think he did change his mind later in the thread but I don't recall.

hes currently using the 1.8 coils and has had no issues that i can remember. But i do know that he maxed out the 2.0l coils as well.

Got a great deal on a disco GT2860RS, 440cc injectors and a coolant tank catch can! Now I just need to find time to pull out the old and drop the new motor.

Did you try this out yet?

I made a few beauty brackets as testers. The first I have already painted and removed the paint with no leave behind residue. It works well so far. The second piece is sitting in the sun and has been there for a week or so. I want to see if it as easy to peel off once its old.

The peeling off of the paint was surprisingly easy, The thicker the paint the easier it came off. Almost like peeling off a condom... same rubbery stretch. Forgive my bluntness but it is a great comparison.

Did some maintenance work on the car over the weekend. Removed front wheel bearings and pressed in new ones. It was much easier than I thought it was going to be. Having a press/impact gun/picklefork made it a walk in the park. The worst part was I thought I would also replace the control arm bushing while I had the hubs off..... BAD idea. Pressed out the horizontal ones and could not press the new ones in. The vertical ones I could not even get out with a ball joint remover and ended up ruining one control arm in the process. So now the car is back together with brand new control arms with bushings already pressed in. A bit expensive for a mistake but at least the control arms are new.

Sucks that you ruined your control arms. I just put new bushings in and ball joints. Not hard but you do have to make sure things are straight when theyre going in. I did mine when they were off the car all together.

I took the arms completely off and had them in the press... when that didnt work I bought a ball joint remover and that ruined the first one. Guess that b**** was just seized up in there. It only put the car out of commision for 2days, glad to have it back together though.

Just lost $80 bucks because people are lazy and don't provide shipping updates/changes. Now I have to find another FCD from a different seller. No way am I going to give that shop any more of my money. Just add it to the list of things not to do. Just in case I have to do a round 2 build.

Work is finally progressing at my pace! got the head studs/head/oil and water pump installed last night. Next up cam cam gears timing and valve cover. It might be a motor soon!

Got my interior squared away, Reinstalled the SSAFC and added a Push to Start system by longacre. Acc. switches are for the data system and secondary fan. BOOM

Got the Motor squared away. Waiting for a 1/8th NPT to -4AN adapter. It pains me that the motor progress is halted by such a small adapter.

Always waiting for that ONE part before you can do anything else. I've been there too many times with my build. Nice progress though man! Is that a signature turbo manifold?

It is the signature series mani. Definitely one of the most unique components to this build. Do you know anyone else running one?
