engine replacement how to

im putting in the new motor this week, so i plan.. can anyone give me a few tips on what to do?? iv done many miata motors and a few others but just checken to see which ways people have done this and if thers one easyer way than another..anything tricky, etc...

Try PMing kcbhiw....he played a major role in the engine swap on Luke's car.

pull the tranny with it, pop out both axles, and pull the engine + tranny together.

this may sound harder, or unnecessary, but it makes it 100 times easier

pull the radiator too, just to make it idiot resistant as well.

exactly what he said ^, the drivers side axle can be a little stubborn though, you may have to take off the caliper on the drivers side so you dont wreck the brake line.

Take plenty of 'before' pix - for reassembly.

Put nuts/bolts/washers in baggies then with a sharpie describe them.

Masking tape each half of a connector and label them.

Check the new engine for timing belt/water pump etc.

New motor mounts! AWR/automatics

Perhaps a Outlaw Engineering kit to cool the intake charge.

Torque / Fix with rivets the VICS screws and eliminate the VTCS...
