Car Sputters (Not Bucking- like a vacuum leak)

I left for vacation on 6/29 and returned 7/7, so about a week long vacation. The whole time the car was left in the driveway. While I was gone it wasn't driven (obviously) and it rained very hard. So yesterday I got in the car and drove it about 30 miles and it seemed to run a little strange, but ran okay. Well today I got in the car to go to work and the car is sputtering very badly under acceration of any kind including when the car is in nuetral. I thought it was a transmission since it seems that I can feel the sputtering in my feet while driving and turning, but after pushing the clutch in and reving, I realized the problem persists even when the transmission is no longer in play. I had to almost limp to work.

Please help!

possible bad plug? check them just to be sure you didnt fry one.

what causes that? also I have a flashing CEL (which I know is bad...) I will check the plugs when I get off work

Problem fixed, it was a hole in a wire that caused the wire to ground to the block instead of through the plug causing a severe misfire. Mods can close

glad you found the problem. I was just about to say a flashing CEL is a misfire lol
