The guy that has my car now, recently messaged me saying that the car was misfiring and throwing codes for #3 and #4 misfires, he mentioned gas or something was on the plugs (I told him to check and see if it was coolant), and noise from the head. He has E3 plugs which I've read on here aren't the greatest for the MSP, and I suggested to him that he would probably be better going with NGKs. He also has a SS AFC on the car, but NO wideband. I've expressed my feelings to him on that topic, pretty much telling him it's dangerous to attempt to tune a car without a wideband, and that he would be better taking the AFC off the car until he got a wideband to tune it properly, you can't just throw a map on there and hope that it runs with the correct a/f ratios. Ugh.
So his most recent message he wrote to me says he found the problem, one of the camshafts had broken in half. He said it happened when he was going about 80 mph down the highway, all of a sudden it backfired and the noise in the head started. Apparently that's when it broke. Not sure how the car is still running, but anywho. How in the heck does that happen? Thanks in advance, just curious. The car still has the forged engine and some of the minor mods such as engine mounts, short shifter, etc. that I left on there and does have the stock SMIC also. *sniff* poor car.
