is THAT why your photos look the way they do. I was trying to figure it out, but that makes perfect sense. Mine always have TONS of contrast, but yours are so much more easy on the eyes.

anyway, here are a couple:

Headshots for a friend.

This first image uses a single Nikon SB-600 into 20" square softbox. Fired about 1/8 power fired by eBay remotes. Gelled to bring it closer to incandescent lights in background. 43" bounce hand held below camera left.

The second image uses 43" umbrella and 20" square softbox in a clamshell set-up. Brolly is above camera on a short boom. SB-600 fired into the brolly at about 1/8 power. SB-600 fired into the softbox at about 1/16 power. Moved model away from the lights a bit so there was no need for fill.

Very cute friend. Mind taking pictures of your lighting positions next time?

Awesome job on softening the lighting. Really great results.

You guys can tell the umbrella produces a more contrast light output than the softbox. There's the difference if anyone was wondering.

Testing out the new 35mm f1.8. Man is the DOF shallow at 1.8, but this was shot barely lit by light of the tree at 800 ISO. Pretty much straight from the cam except for the resizing.

Awesome photos everyone! I'm looking to get a decent wide angle lens for my Canon. Something like the Sigma 10-20. Any recommendations?
