alrighty i know all protege's have em but i got a msp my cigarette lighter died and i need it for cell power. do those things die often would ya think it is just the lighter part i havent done anything back behind that do i dont think i could have clipped a wire or anything.....anyone got any ideas

i know everyone says to wire your gauges tin the ignition or dimmer switch. but i am installin my gauges underneath my radio where the pocket used to be. anyone know what wires in the ac control i could use to make the gauges lights work and dimm possibly???
