I run the 205/55 on my stock wheels. Smoother ride but the car gets wobbly, the feeling is closer to losing traction, when I turn left. It doesn't handle the same in a bad way and it throws off your speedometer too. In return it's a smoother ride and much cheaper tire prices then the 195/50

Update for you guys. The eBay gear came in. Perfect fit and functions flawlessly. I even used your picture to reassemble the gear, spring, cap, and position in the actuator too. Cheap alternative to replacing the actuator.

The first time i did this it i backed it out 1/3 of a turn and the wheel barely turned. Backed out of my driveway and i could feel the brakes grabbing on?!?! Oh well back to the trail and error for me.

it's actually easy. You just have to pop the inside cover of the door off, carefully remove the plastic from the black rubber glue stuff, and swap out the gear. Straight forward stuff. I'll try to document how it goes when i swap mine out for you guys.

+1 on the 5w30 oil. Penziol synthetic seems to work great in my car since i only have to change the oil twice a year around 7000 miles each time. Not sure what the oil filter size is but there are links to the owner's manual on the main protege5 page and I can't imagine a place that sells oil...

Does the brake line just keeps dumping out brake fluid? i guess i'll have to clamp it shut once i disconnect it.

I am thinking of replacing my rear calipers should the piston allen key replacement not work for me. My question is: when i remove the whole caliper assembly (meaning i'll unscrew the banjo fitting from the caliper) do i have to clamp down the break line to prevent too much fluid loss? Then...

This kit should not be neccessary unless your the parts on your old caliper is completely torn up. I would just get the rotor and calipers. Are you upgrading or our you just replacing?

I would try to retap the groves but i think they're pretty well lodged in there. oh well i guess i'll try something before buying new calipers

Yeah it seems that way but i read on some forums that people were able to rotate the actual piston via clamps but this means i cant adjust the piston once the new pads are in.

I agree with fitftw. when you have the wheel lifted you can also just manually rotate them. I bad bearing will produce some grinding and vibration when you slowly rotate the tires.

Went to change my rear brakes yesterday. Removed the 14mm bolt that covers the allen key that controls the piston. Unsrewed the allen key, it was tough, and when the key came out half of the groves were stripped off! This is probably the first time in the car's existence that i had to change...

I can't really tell but it looks like your bumper is fine. Fenders can be found at alot of u pull it or junk yard. Headlights are pricey but check the for sale thread. Goodluck

auto stick?!?! not sure what that is but if you're going from an 03 automatic to and 02 automatic than no you do not need a new tranny. if you want the auto stick think you can try jamming a branch into the tranny before installing it.
