    MPG...whats going on here?

I think the term "city" has a lot of wiggle room. For some city means doing 40mph and stopping for a light every 3 miles or so. Where for others especially in busy cites like Chicago, NY, L.a. etc. City means diving 1 block and stopping at a sign, driving another 4 blocks and catching a red...

    Slow iPhone charging

Per the specs on Amazon it should do the trick when using the 2 amp port. Maybe you got a bad one?

    Slow iPhone charging

Find a 2 amp cigarette lighter charger. 1 amp ones are fine for topping off but 2 amps charges things up much faster.

    Sombody hurt my baby!!

Scratch on the passengers side mirror. backing into my underground parking spot trying to get close to the beam as possible since the person on the other side parks too close sometimes. As I was backing up I heard a scrap. Little wear mark on the white mirror and a black spot where it wore...

How well do you think the CX-5 will hold its value?

It's Japanese, it will hold it just fine.

    Touring vs. Grand Touring Audio

I have the Touring model and the stock system is not that bad. Like anything else, if you toss $1K into a aftermarket system it will be worlds better. So far I have not messed with the stock system though. Realistically due to the back up camera any upgrade will mean that the stock head unit...

Dealer installed hitch - hack-job on the bumper notch

Wow, they butchered that thing. For sure speak to the service manager and demand a new bumper or you are calling Mazda USA to rectify this problem. Service is the bread and butter of any dealership, they don't want to get reported to big brother. I put my own hitch on, the Curt one requires...

    2013 CX-5 2.0L, thinking about upgrade to 2014 CX-5 2.5L

With the CX-5 selling beyond Mazda's original expectations and reading that this model is their profit center. I am thinking that there may be a price increase on the 2014 regardless of the engine. Did not help that every journalist mentioned that it is a great bang for the buck and hints that...

2012 LA Auto Show CX-5 Engine Upgrade Announcement

Is that a poor mans cold air-induction vent in the pics? Have to look at mine, do not recall a vent under the hood that feeds the air filter. http://www.autoblog.com/photos/2014-mazda-cx-5-la-2012/#photo-5467440

2012 LA Auto Show CX-5 Engine Upgrade Announcement

From an email I got yesterday from Mazda: "Mazda 2014 CX-5 gets revved Mazda engineers never stop improving. Case in point—the new 2.5L engine in the Touring and Grand Touring CX-5 models boasts a commanding 184 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque, and still retains a healthy 32 MPG hwy.* Also...

    Passenger vs SUV winter tires

Would personally give the stock tires a shot before buying new ones. Between the ground clearance and the AWD I have a feeling that the stock ones will be just fine for everything but the most extreme stuff. Also remember that true snow or off road tires are loud as hell on dry roads, they...

0.9% 3 year financing available from Mazda

Dealer was offering 2.9% for 60 when I was buying mine. After i chose to pass the dealer called the next day and said that with my good credit he found 1.9 for 60 through Wells Fargo. that sealed the deal for me. Explore all options if you have good credit, do not just depend on Mazda offers.

Last 3 tanks 36.3 MPG, 36.5 MPG, 35.3 MPG, with an Auto

Damn, good job people. I am always in the low 20's. Understandable though, all city and short trips. Living close to work is great but does not put up high mpg's. I'll take the trade off though, going home for lunch is a nice perk.

    Cleaning the dashboard

Also interested. The black dash shows pretty easy. Am thinking that just a regular microfiber is going to leave lots of lint behind since the dash is so grippy. Heard some people on other forums such as BMW and Benz that also have rubber dashes use 303 Aerospace Protectant and a microfiber...

About to buy 2013 Sport model - need reassurance!

The old days of taking a year or two to work out bug with new models is almost non-existent today. There are so many millions spent on testing and simulation software that they can basically test the whole design in the lab before the real car is even made. I feel very comfortable in buying...

    Question regarding trip computer function

Be sure to press the button straight down and hold. Do not press up or down and hold. The dealer actually made this mistake while trying to show me how to clear it. He felt a little uncomfortable when I showed him how to hold it dead center and press. It is a 3-way switch.

    Product Improvement Thread

Auto on headlights when it is dark. Think you have to get the GT model to get this feature. My stock 06 Corolla had this as did my 1998 Old. Just a simple photo sensor, should be std on all models.

    CX-5 Oil Change with Filter

Curious, not due for an oil change yet but is their any special reset on the computer to set after you change your oil? My Toyota has some series that included turning the key to acc and pressing the gas 3 times. This reset the computer service light countdown. Basically ever x amount of miles...

    Ok, Gas Mileage SUCKS!

Satisfied with my mpg. always could be better though. I think the big variable is what "city" really means. For example my first tank I was getting 28 mpg. Driving was comprised of going over 45mph for maybe 50% of the tank. On the other hand last tank I only got 22.5 mpg. This was...
