    Mazda 5 steering noise

I took the air bag out and found nothing loose inside the wheel. I found a thread re: a 2010 Mazda 6 where it was noted the clockspring can make some noise. The thread recommended some foam on the clockspring to keep it from rattling. Are clocksprings a common issue on 3s and 5s? I seem...

    Mazda 5 steering noise

I hear you and may end up doing this. However, if it is something easy I can fix myself in under 30 minutes without spending any $, I'd like to try and do that without the hassle of going to the dealer. Dealers do not like doing warranty work.

    Mazda 5 steering noise

I have a 2012 Mazda 5 Sport that just turned 7000 miles. At low speeds I am hearing a noise in the steering wheel. It sounds like it is coming from under the air bag. For lack of a better description, it sounds like a BB rolling around in the steering wheel. It seems more prevalent in cold...

    2012 Mazda5 Lowered On H&R's!

No issue but I don't have many miles on my install.

Any luck for a good aftermarket mud guards for our 5?

I bought the OEM front and rear mud guards when I purchased my 5. The fronts were very easy to install, just popped out a couple of push buttons and install, didn't even have to take the wheels off. The rears I had to take the rear wheels off because you have to drill one hole on each side in...

    2012 Mazda5 Lowered On H&R's!

Having driven mine for a bit now with the lowering springs, there is a definite noticeable difference in ride and handling. The ride is definitely stiffer and choppier. I don't find it uncomfortable though. The handling though is much improved, even with the stock 205 55 16s I have on my car...

    2012 Mazda5 Lowered On H&R's!

I just finished up installing the PN 52685 H&Rs on my 2012 Mazda 5. I thought I'd write up some install tips because in searching for some before install I didn't find much. So some tips on the install. FRONTS - To get the front end up in the air safely, I first drove it up on my ramps...

    2012 Mazda5 Lowered On H&R's!

Make sure you get the 52685 PN H&R springs. These are for the 2012-up Mazda 5s. The 2006-2010 have a different PN. I am getting ready to put my H&Rs on my Mazda 5. I may just take off the front struts and have Pep Boys put the springs on for me. I just did this with my SRT-4 and they...

    My 2012 Mazda 5 6spd manual Sport

Crossover had to get the springs from the warehouse. They arrived today and are the correct part number for the 2012 (52685). My experience with Crossover was outstanding. They notified me there would be a delay in shipping and kept me up to date on the order status. I would definitely buy...

    2012 5 fuel economy reports

At almost 2500 miles, I am seeing 24-27 in mixed driving. I have yet to make an all highway trip.

My 2012 Mazda 3 makes my 5's suspension seem soft.

What wheels/tires are you running on your 5? If you have a Sport and are running the 16s w/ H rated 205 55 16s then an upgrade to V or Z rated 16" tires or even better an upgrade to 17 inch wheels w/ lower profile 50 series tires that are V/Z rated would really help. V and Z rated tires have a...

    My 2012 Mazda 5 6spd manual Sport

I looked at H&R's site and they have different PNs for the 2006-2010 springs and the 2012+ springs. I ordered a set of the 2012+ springs through this place called Crossover Performance for $230. Waiting on them to arrive.

    My 2012 Mazda 5 6spd manual Sport

Just thought I'd add a picture of my Mazda 5. I purchased it on 6/29 and drove it home that night in the large "derecho" storm that struck the midwest and east coast. I was fortunate in that I did not encounter any hail on the drive or at my house! This is my first Mazda. I wanted something...

    New Mazda 5 owner

Fog lights are installed. Bumper did NOT need to come off. Three 8mm bolts on each splash shield and the 3 push pins on each in the front of the fender. Then the splash shield pulls down and you can access the fog lights. Or in my case, I could access the little block off panels and remove...

I saw another thread that also suggested the bumper didnt need to come off. I will get it up on ramps and see if I can get away with not removing it.

I was leaning towards going with 16s because that would save me buying tires. Also, that will maintain ride quality. I know the 205 50 17s will improve the handing, but on this vehicle I'll trade some handling for ride quality. If I want to rattle my teeth I have other vehicles that will do...

    New Mazda 5 owner

I picked up the 5 on 6/29. Drove it home through those wicked storms we got here on the east coast Friday night, thankfully did not see any hail. To install the fog lights, the instructions are very detailed. Looks like a plug and play operation. The biggest issue is the front bumper cover...
