it's not difficult to get 2 silicon joiners, (a length of alloy with a 90deg bend on each end) then put your air filter in the fog light hole and join it to the maf.

yes, plenty of people use them. i use one also. as long as it isn't brass button you'll hardly notice it (well maybe a little ;))
and ignition on - don't forget ignition must be 'on' to connect!
but to be fair, the microtech doesn't have anything to do with the starter motor firing. this is a different problem altogether.

how have you wired the microtech power? straight from the battery with a fuse in between or did you run it from one of the original vehicle fused circuits?

firstly, are you sure it's coming out the overflow and not one of the welch plugs on the block? i ask cos i had this happen - looked like a water pump leak but a frost plug had rusted a wee hole and was pouring out there.
