    Let's see some Mazda3 5-doors

Haha... yeah, it was at Buttonwillow, as I said earlier. Here's one from her good side... And one from the bad:

    Bushings

That's a little more reasonable, but still kinda ridiculous... I'm pretty sure you can do it without removing the bar, so it shouldn't take more than 1 hour tops.

    Let's see some Mazda3 5-doors

It was pinging ever since I got gas at some random ghetto station off I-5 on the drive down to the track, so that probably played a large part of it. I don't think I could hear the knocking with my helmet on, if I had an EGR gauge it was probably ramping up really hot and I would have been able...

    Let's see some Mazda3 5-doors

^ that dyno was done with the stock midpipe/cat right after the turbo install; I've been running a 3" open exhaust w/ high-flow cat for awhile, and it was a very noticeable improvement but never got it dynoed. So I would imagine it was running closer to 255whp for the last couple years if I had...

    Let's see some Mazda3 5-doors

Yeah, well it was bound to happen eventually (the stock engine blowing at the track at least... the fire was a surprise though). Won't have time to dig into it and figure out the extent of the damage under all the melted plastic until this weekend. But unless it's a lot worse than I expect, I do...

    Let's see some Mazda3 5-doors

They're Shinkas w/ 225/40/18 SPT tires, and the full set of 4 will probably be for sale soon. I threw the back two on once it cooled down so I didn't waste the track tire tread while getting a two-wheel tow. Those wheels are all in great shape.

    Let's see some Mazda3 5-doors

Yes, the engine blew on the track and caused a relatively epic little oil fire shortly after I exited into the parking lot. There's more details about it on MOCC in the Buttonwillow thread.

^ nice spoiler... mine is also gone for the winter, for a different reason...

    Bushings

$280!? I admit the front swaybar is a little more difficult to work with that the rear, but that's obscene.

    Bushings

    1. remove the two brackets from front stabilizer bar 2. replace existing bushings with new bushings 3. reinstall brackets

Anyone tried extrudehone(ing) ms3 downpipe instead of replacing with aftermarket?

Never heard of anyone attempting that process on this car, but interested in the potential of it. I don't think there's a lot of power to be gained from it with the stock MS3 downpipe though, but it could be worth looking into, who knows. If you're planning on taking the car to an HPDE, I would...

    New brakes

Hawk HPS are great daily driving pads, but they do not have the initial "bite" of the stock pads and have a more linear feel (read: needs a little more effort at first). And yeah, the barely dust at all, which is really nice. I would recommend them.

    Will these fit my car?

Those will work fine with 205/50/17 tires at that offset. But you'd need to roll the rear fenders to go with wider tires at that offset. The +45 recommendation was probably assuming 225/45/17 tires, which is a common size people use with aftermarket wheels on this car.

    Cleaning a Hydroshield

I would not actively scrub it because I think it'd wipe off the water-repellant coating. I would probably lightly rinse the dust and grime off with lukewarm water, relatively gently. And let it completely air dry before reinstalling.

    H&R or BC coilovers?

Ribbit on m3f was the first bagged 3 I remember seeing, way back in the day...
