What have you done to your P5 today?

Started tearing my car apart...sad day. Going from fully built motor+turbo to factory and NA. Making it more daily driveable. Seemed useless to have all those parts and money in something I just putt around in everyday. Money from motor and turbo will be going towards wheels/new wrap, and advertisement/banners for my business. Be on the lookout. Its going to be quite a bit different then what you've seen before.

wife drove it to class so I could have new tires put on her civic...i hate swapping cars. P5 is a practical...but the civic is TOO practical, to the point of being boring. Even when it was stock, the p5 has never been boring ;)

Washed the P5, but it proceeded to rain just hours later, a few days ago. The RX8 got dropped off at my mechanic last night for the Tokico SpecD's to go on. Can't wait to have that thing clamped down to the road.

Got a junkyard motor to replace the built motor thats in the car now. Going back to stock, the motor looks much cleaner than expected, according to Carfax, only has roughly 100k miles on it. Throwing new bearings and rings in there and then giving the cyl a lil crosshatch action and good to go.

**Anyone happen to know where I can find the torque specs for the rod bolts, and do I need to replace those or are those reusable? I know about the head bolts and I already have main bolts. Thanks in advance**

Washed both the Golf and P5 first time since the end of salt season. Felt great to be outside in the sun and get all the winter dirt and grime off them. This will be the last wash the P5 gets before I put it up for sale. Just needs to get a bit warmer before I tackle removing the last of the aftermarket items.

You gonna put up some good stuff for sale

I still need to take off the exhaust, header, and short shifter. As of right now, the exhaust and header are spoken for locally. I still have yet to list my intake for sale.

Got these wheels to fit on! Coils arrive next week, and the car should be sitting a bit lower.

My P5 is still alive! Today I ordered a bunch of parts to get it ready for lapping season: front brakes, end links, and a beefy rear anti-roll bar.

Yesterday I managed to loosen the steering rack bolts, in an effect to properly depower the rack. A lot of people I spoke to say to just loop the hydraulic line, but I found the following which looks a lot more interesting: http://www.flyinmiata.com/tech/depower.php?x=1

Has anyone tried either of those options? I currently still have the pump still connected (with no P/S belt) and am tired of having to muscle the car through tight corners.

Did my first track day yesterday! Our P5s are some serious underdogs. I had several people come over asking what was under the hood. I would still prefer RWD, but it was tons of fun passing people in a "grocery getting wagon" as one person called it.

I know more than a few who have followed that how to without issues for a P5 rack, loop lines are not the proper way.

In the past week I have replaced drivers side axle and wheel bearing and passenger side caliper due to it locking up. 190k and still going.
