Actually, the kid probably has a z-28, which if I recall was TPI with a 305. Someone may have put the I-ROC sticker on the car, and sold it that way. Hell, I've seen people try to pass off a Trans Am as a GTA ( and one kid trying to say it was a Firehawk). Assuming the car wasn't maintained, yeah a MSP might beat it. I'm still doubtful though. My mechanic has a 92 z-28( runs 11.47 in the qtr-I've got MPEG's) I had an 84 Z-28(light amount of work done 350TH tranny, Holley 650DP, B&M Shift Kit, 3.73 rear), so I know what they are capable of stock, and modified.
Here's the Specs of most 3rd Gen F-Body's as I remember them.
Engine Specs
Standard V-6: 2.8 Litre: 175 HP
Standard Z28 V-8: 5.0 Litre: 235 HP
Optional V-8: 5.7 Litre: 280 HP
My 84 was marked as a 5.0 HO (High Output), which always confused me a bit. Might have just been marketing spin, I never looked into it. Traditionally Chevy likes to use Cubic Inches and Ford likes to use Liters (305 = 5.0 / 350 = 5.7) so the 5.0 kinda always bugged me. Also came with an electronic Carb, literally just cut all the wires and put on the Holley. Yeah, I miss that car. Fastest thing between two gas stations.

2) 92 i-roc z ???????????
Sorry, I'm going to call bulls*** on this. First off, an I-roc would eat our cars with no problem. "The IROC-Z TPI 350 is now rated at 245 hp at 4400 rpm with 345 lbs.-ft. of torque at 3200 rpm", that was for the 1990. Which brings me to my final point, 1990 was the final year for IROC's. Chevy ended their association with the organizers of the International Race of Champions and 1990 was the final year. Z-28 became the flagship once again.
excuse me but i thought 90 was the last year its pretty bad that the guy driving his own car dont know its two years older than he thinks it is but anyways no bs on that one.. my 6300 lb. chevy truck with a vortech 305 beat it and my 3.5 msp beat it...
