THE GREAT THUNDERBOLTS WAY 50:50 STATE OF ORIGIN COSMO CRUISE!
Subtitled - Cold air, Red wine and steak in front of an open fire in a country pub!
Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th of July 2012
IF you arent in Queensland or NSW - get on a plane and we will find a seat for you!
Half way between Queensland and NSW is Walcha at the top of the range - Cold as f k and host to many car and bike tours.
Its 800 Kilometers return for the Sydney boys going via Raymond terrace, Gloucester and Thunderbolts way to Walcha - if we retrace our steps or 1100 if we cruise north with the Queenslanders to Guyra on the Sunday morning for a Mass photo op and then down the range to Port MacQuarie then down the Pacific Highway home.
For the Queenslanders its 1100 kilometers via Beaudesert, Tenterfield and Guyra to Walcha.
Its a long way - but our cars were designed to be Grand Tourers not inner-city traffic light hoppers!
Its also the most ambitious cruise I've seen for Rotors - but the point is do some interesting twisty bits, have some adventure on the road in some spectacular scenery and then get to a small country pub, drink red wine in front of an open fire and talk Rotors! We've got all day to get there - there's no rush there is no race!!
Most of the Cosmo boys have spent big to build there cars and there seems to be a window with many more than possibly for years roadworthy and rearing to go at the moment. So lets do this!
Accommodation will cost us each about $80 and there are 6 rooms at the pub which can sleep up to 3 per room (shared bathroom between two rooms) or there are other pubs and motels nearby. We can organise a dinner or just the pub bistro!
Sydney Guys assemble at Thornleigh Maccas for a 7:30 kick off - head north on the F3, Newcastle at Hungry Jacks at the end of the F3, head up the Pacific Hwy to Buckets Way to Gloucester (some patches not the smoothest tarmac), then Thunderbolts way to Walcha.
Let me know your thoughts and if your in
