US Diesel's big splash introduction

And.... Daimler is defending diesels. I remind myself that maybe its not a bad idea to just chill out and wait a little longer before jumping to conclusions on the fate of diesel in North America and abroad .

Diesel is fine in North America. Mazda, not so much. Can't wait for Hyundai to drop the Diesel Santa Fe in 2019 so that the Mazda die-hards can shut up sbout "Oh, they aren't American based so Mazda is getting screwed".

Its only 21xx posts- cut that half and you probably get close to non-X posts(glare) haha ok 1/4 maybe

Not in the US. The few manual 3's we have are always the last to go. Most younger buyers have no idea how to drive one

If they made them fun to drive again, it would be a different ball game. Plenty of fun cars still sell in manual...wrx...mustang...camaro...miata...corvette...

Maybe, but I'm in Houston and very few people want to deal with a manual transmission in Houston traffic. When I worked for Chevy, about 1/3 (at the most) of the Camaros and Vettes sold were manual

Last I saw, they sell something near 10% manual 3's in N.A. IIRC (though yes, I believe that percentage is higher in Canada).

First post to this thread, and after much perusing, just wanted to say hello. Also just happened to notice the 2.2 diesel just gained certification for US by CARB today. Apparently there will be 2wd as well as 4wd. Enjoy:
