Tranny Differences (Speedo Sensor)

I have a 2001 MP3 and had to swap out the tranny due to damage some years ago. I got a 2003 tranny, but after installing realized that the pink speedo gear wasnt present. I need to get the correct tranny in my car (2001) with speedo sensor. Anyone knows of its only 2001 year that has the speedo sensor on top of the tranny or 2002 possibly. Thanks.

you could also buy the ring, take the trans apart, and have the differential bearing pulled off, ring installed, and new bearing pressed on and all installed in the trans. Parts would cost ~$50-$60 and the the labor for a shop to do it if you cannot.
