Tom Tom Map Detail

No, not the zoom level.

My Garmin GPS's allow the user to adjust how much detail is displayed at different levels of zoom. For example, as the Tom Tom is zoomed out to look at the bigger picture the secondary roads disappear and there is no way to adjust this behavior. In Manhattan this is a good thing but in a more rural area it makes the map worthless. Simplicity is good but the Tom Tom is literally crippled by the fact that certain key features are not user adjustable in a menu.

thats what i call 'the apple effect' or pandering to the lowest common denominator(in terms of adaptive intelligence) dumb it down so much that any rube can use it, but anyone with any acumen is blinded by its glaring shortcomings
