Has anyone noticed when adjusting the temperature in the cabin, there appears to be some sort of ticking sound coming from near the engine bay. I’ve heard it today for the first time in 4 years while at a red light. It doesn’t matter if you adjust it up or down, it makes a sound for every 1 degree changed.
Is this normal? You would think because the temperature selection is digital, it wouldn’t make any sound but I’m not sure.
The AC works fine otherwise, I’m thinking it may be adjusting the expansion value inside the HVAC system to control how much pressure to create for the temperature selected. I may be wrong since I’m a software programmer and not a HVAC contractor and managed to learn the basics of HVAC systems as a result of trying to understand how these things work.
