suggestions on what camera to buy.

I just won a $1000 (Canadian) gift cetificate at a camera shop where I live.

Any ideas on which camera I should buy. I just bought a Canon A70 in the summer, so I would like to step it up a bit.

I just got an A70 for Christmas. Great camera. Can't help you on the $1000 range though. I only looked at ones between $250-500 (us).

Yeah, I did a bunch of research before I bought the A70. I'm actually quite happy with it. The only other thing I think I would want is a video camera or a digital SLR, but the SLRs are quite pricey.
