I'm wondering if anyone has any interesting info on the stock rim paint (2002 specifically, if there's any difference)

Is there a specific paint code for it at Mazda?

What is it, anyway? I'm looking at a set that has a lot of bubbling and peeling, and it looks to my untrained eye that the paint is just single layer (clearcoat?) with no primer.

Thanks!

There is no code for "Wheel" paint.
Sorry..you will hae to find something of your choice and proceed from there.

Thanks for the response, so there's no standard paint that mazda uses which the average person can get?

This discussion was opened a while back without any definite conclusion. Your best bet is to match a paint can by eye or second choice which would get you the right colour is to take the rim and have the paint matched by a machine.

The silver paint is a standard and most companies have the same shade. There was a website where a guy fixed up his silver Porsche wheels with paint that was off the shelf and the colour was identical.
