Hi y'all, my 5 is my first minivan I've owned and therefore have to wrench on.

What is the recommended care for the sliding door tracks and rollers? Lube? No lube? What kind of lube, etc?

I have used silicone spray a few times/year to lube my rollers and other door hinges/mechanicals. It pays to also clean off the lower door track too since that gets gunked up worst.

Thanks for the feedback, Mark.

I've only used silicone spray on bare cast iron before and it turns nasty black over time. Does silicone stay clean on the painted track of the 5?

Hi FiftySix, u can use as well wd-40 spray lube (its not silicone at all), very easy to spray and your slide doors will be working smoothly...

I do use WD-40 to displace water, especially after cleaning things, but I tend to wipe it down and use a regular oil of some sort as a lube where needed.
