Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen ~ June 28 - 30, 2013

waiting to hear back from the teams to set up paddock tours for Saturday. and Sunday possibly? tentative Saturday schedule right now, working around the tour, is lunch at noon and the raffle immediately following. want to get everything done before the Conti race starts at 3pm. this weekend we'll be raising money for Autism Speaks. then after the race on Saturday, we'll get our parade laps! : )

I'll be the "fuel replacement specialist" (aka deadman/woman) for the 00 Speedsource Mazda6 during the race on Sunday, so you'll be on your own then ; ) enjoy!

Agreed. Thanks to Lauri, Marlon, Tom and Phen. Some more memories to add. Cigars and drinks outside across from the bar. Steve and his cow bell. The parade lap with Mark and Steve, priceless.
 
Oh man... **** those parade laps! You lucky duck with your power hardtop that works under 25 mph. I drove most of the way home with the top up (mainly because it rained, AGAIN), and the windows half down. Seemed to dry out the car pretty well.

Freaking dinner bell... not sure where that came from, but you guys sure twisted it well!

i was at the rolex at the glen a couple years ago.
I cant imagine what what the diesels sound like ! do they run the prototype class this year i suppose ?
Sounds like time for a you tube jaunty for me
 
The diesels sound like... Umm... pissed off generators? All you hear when they go by is a soft "whirrrrrrrrrrrllllllllllllll"

I work with a fellow who has been assigned to the Glen for years and was there last weekend doing track duty.
He was downloading the event to me today and got a lot of pics of the Mazda tent and the skyactive diesel motor and of course the girls.
I am not sure if he can put up his official pics on his website but he has covered a ton of events officially for them over tens of years.

He told me the Mazda girls were almost as hot as the Continental tire girls .
Anybody do the virtual racing in Conti tent ?

By the way i want one of those Mazda sixes : )
Were they competitive in class ?
alot of wrecks fron rain saturday in and out of the boot and a couple rollovers ! WOW .

Sorry your spirits were dampened. Actually roof works up to 40mph.
