Rx7 with a LS1 engine

I know this is blasphemous to some of you and this may already have been posted here (sorry I dont frequent the Rx7/Rx8 section often) but at the track yesterday we had a Rx7 with a LS1 engine ( he didnt track the car was there for pics) - thought I would share a pic with you all.. Im impressed how well the LS1 engine fit in the engine bay and the fact this guy did all the mods himself...

It's 'fairly' common to see that engine in an RX-7.

It's definitely a cool mod. Some consider it blasphemy, but the LS1 is rather lightweight and doesn't upset the weight balance all that much.

Like everything, the swap has its advantages and disadvantages.

the ls1 is one of the greatest engines around imo. light weight, huge power great fuel economy(with the right gearing) and burns extremely clean. theres no reason to hate it

It works yeah but I wouldn't EVER want to give up the sound of that redline near 8k. I hear my buddies S2K hit 9K and it's music to my ears. I love the high revs and unfortunately can't stand corvette sounds. Still have CRAZY respect for all the swaps. Specially the Supercharged LS Evo.
