Roof rack affecting gas mileage/suggestions for a bike rack

I just bought crossbars so I'm trying to get a roof rack to work... if it doesn't I'll definitely let you know.

Unless he welded them, the bar is removable. You can see he has a screw through the mount into the crossbar.
