replacing driver side mirror

Hi folks,

I bought a MP5 about five weeks ago and am enjoying it a lot. There are a few things that came from the dealer less than perfect, but it's been too long for me to go back and accuse them of screwing it up.

One of these is that the driver's side mirror has a bunch of scratches on it (vertical scratches, lower third of the mirror). I'm thinking about buying another mirror and just replacing it - has anyone taken *just* the mirror off before? I did a quick search and found nothing - anyone have any tips? My other alternative is to get some glass polish and try to polish them out - again, has anyone ever attempted polishing a mirror before?

Thanks for any help.

no heat gun needed. just pull on it. there are 4 "clips" that hold it on and some double sided tape. Just pull...you'll be fine. I've done it plenty of time. Don't about about the 'clicking' you hear, it's just the gears in the power mirror motors.
