replaced battery..now have high idle

the computer may be relearning the maps.... if it doesnt fix within a day or so, unhook the battery again to reset the computer and see if that fixes it

Thats a possiblity of the re-mapping ,, but slim very slim ---take that sucker out immediatly check to make 100% certain that you have the correct battery voltage etc. and that you have grounds properly fastened and pos/neg clean and attached like new , then b-4 you crank er again check all surrounding wires etc. that you didnt pull something out or knock a connection loose . I have connected multiple batteries and this has NEVER occured - so something is wrong and its not going to magically "fix" itslef because its a computer --this would happen in seconds , not days ----do it over and make 100% sure you got everything right--when you come across any engine malfunction start with the EASIEST and most obvious thing 1st --thats would be --do you have the right battery ?, Is it connected right ? did you knock a connection loose ? what else did you do when this was replaced ...chsck that too----its a simple fix , of that im sure

Also what caused the battery to die off in the first place ....was it a slow process or did it go pop in the night on thefreeway ?????this could give you a clue also ? fuses , ? crossed wires alternator malfunction ? this may be it ------trying hard as it may that engine cant keep the proper charge in the battery as you have an alt thats intermittently functioning

It took my Mazda about 2 weeks to re-learn everything. Hardly anyone knows that you have a very short window from the time you disconnect your battery to the time the ECU is completely drained of electricity. That's when you run into idle issues unless you have a newly cleaned (both sides) throttle body.
