Radio gets hot

I noticed today that when I ejected the CD from the player on my Sport model that it was unusually hot in my hand. If this thing gets this hot inside than I imagine the electrical components inside the radio head unit not lasting very long. Anyone else notice this? I'm thinking that the heater core must be close to or under the head unit.

I think you will find that this heat is generated by the laser and quite normal, unless you mean that the CD is almost too hot to hold. I've noticed that CD's get quite warm in my home HiFi.

Most radios do run hot....at least all cars I've owned have. My aftermarket pioneer headunit in my jeep ran pretty hot w/o playing a CD, the factory radio did as well.
