Sup Mazdas247, So the temp in my area is dropping little by little from what used to be 100 degree average to now 85 degree average and about 2 weeks ago I put in a quart of Lucas oil to help with burning oil (dipstick shows halfway b/w full and low). Now I'm hearing something ticking when I'm idling when engine is cold and when I rev the engine slightly the tapping will also increase in speed. Well it eventually dies out when the engine is warmed. I'm not sure if it's because the temperature, Lucas oil or my engine is about to go six feet under on me. So now I'm here and looking for that mazdas247 knowledge. Thank you.

its because of the viscosity of the additive in cold weather. To put it in simple terms the oil is so thick that it is not able to lubricate the engine correctly.
