protege5 oil pan gasket change

Hi, just a quick question. I bought Permatex Ultra Black Maximum Oil Resistance RTV Silicone Gasket Maker

It says it provided maximum oil resistance so I bought that instead of the gray, blue, red, or other gasket makers. Anyone else replace the gasket on their oil pan? What did you use?

Not yet but i need to do it coming soon in the future just waiting to get access to a lift lol. Let me know how that gasket works for you, i might purchase it, if all goes well! Good luck.

I have used the gray and the black. Both worked fine. The easiest way I found though was to use the cork gasket that is avaible. No mess and easy.

When i rebuilt my motor a few years back i cleaned off the original rtv and used some of the black permatex. No leaks....from there at least :p

So, I replaced the oil pan gasket with the permatex ultra black. The 3.35 oz. tube is more than enough. Let it dry for 2 days. It was dry after 1 day.
I filled it with oil, drove it and it's not leaking.
