1998 Mazda Protege LX
I ordered a projector retrofit kit from theretrofitsource.com. I now have the projectors, ballasts, shrouds, bulbs and wiring harness. Along with some stickers from TRS. Hoping for this to be my winter project. I'll be using the USDM headlight housings to mount the projectors in and the JDM clear lenses. Any questions don't hesitate to ask. Well, on to the pics I guess.

FX-R projectors with "BIXENON" stickers.

I just thought this picture was cool with how the flash was reflected in the projector.

Progress is being made

I didn't want you guys thinking I was going to start a thread and not update. I've done some work and this is what I've got so far. Projector is mounted and was temporarily put on the car to aim it. The shroud is trimmed, but still needs to be permanently fixed to the projector. Too much was cut off the top, but no one is going to see it with the hood down. You can still see some of the projector housing behind the shroud, but not really enough to notice if you just walk by and glance at the car. Well, on to the pics.....

Projector mounted, shroud set in, no lens.

The light isn't on, that's just the camera flash.

With the light on. Low beam, I believe.

Low beam from the driver's seat. Only about 3' from the garage door, I'll obviously take pics from farther away when it's done.

High beam. Again, very close to the door.

Still need to be done:
Tear apart passenger headlight
Mount passenger projector
Permanently mount shrouds
Wire up DRL's
Take lens off JDM headlights
Put JDM lenses on USDM housing
Clean up
Show off

Alright, what you've all been waiting for. The finished product...... or at least 95% finished, haha.

Thank you. I have an extra pair of gatling gun shrouds that I want to do something with. Maybe create some DRLs in the inside-bottom corner of the headlights. We'll see, though.

Haha, thanks man. The 2nd gen forums over here seem so dead. Makes the 2nd gen forums on CP look exciting, haha.

hi man im from venezuela and i would like to know where did u get your headlights CLEAR without the fluted lenses because i want to get them >(

I bought them off a guy who was parting out his Protege. I don't know where he got them from, though. They're JDM, so if you can find someone who imports that kind of stuff you can try there. But I don't know how to get them myself, sorry.

Need to adjust these lights. The passenger side has slowly been creeping upwards and the driver side is aimed way to the right. *sigh*

The driver side has been pointing way right since I put them in, just been too lazy to fix it. The passenger side....? My dad put a nut or something under the reflector because he couldn't get the light to go up high enough to be level. So I'm thinking whatever he put in there has been moving around whenever the car went over bumps. Also, I'm going to take the LED strips out that i put in. They didn't really have the effect I was looking for. So I'll use my spare set of gatling gun shrouds to make some DRLs in the bottom-inside corner of the lights. I'll also take the nut out and see if there's a better way to get that thing level.

By the way, awesome avatar. Hahaha.
