Two rims and tires wrecked, time for some new ones me thinks. (unamused)

Just got back from the tire and rim shop, first picture is the image straight from my camera, with plate blanking of coarse and second image is a lazy 2 minute photoshop to see what it looks like dropped.

They look pretty good in my opinion, but they look funny with the car so damn high, NEED LOWER SPRINGS!

Here in the US thats covered under collision insurance, not sure about you Aussies though...

Not too sure how it works here, but I need to get the front right checked for alignment and other damage as we hit the pot hole at 100kph/60mph and it was a pretty deep hole.

Same EXACT thing happened to me last year. Same exact speed and same exact damage. One wheel survived but both tires ended up like yours.

Nice impact break on that side wall! I'm constantly looking down at the street when I'm driving because otherwise these 45 Series wouldn't survive. Oh well looks like a really good excuse to get new wheels. :)

There are some crap roads in oz that's for sure.

I don't think your insurance is going to cover that :(

Not covered by insurance... Ohwell. After ringing up Mazda and getting a quote from them, I'll be going after market rims and tires.
Mazda quote for two wheels was like $1,000 and After markets are $1,400 or so for 4 rims and tires.

I got mine refurbished on eBay for under $200. It was kind of pointless though considering I got aftermarket wheels right after that.

Definitely get your suspension inspected, and an alignment done, after a hit like that. It would suck to end up wearing out those new tires prematurely because something got tweaked.

Turns out I can't get the one I like... So I picked 6 others. Each wheel is 17x7.

Definitely Allegrita or Superturismo. I like the first. OZ makes good quality wheels.

I agree with Ryno on the allegeritas, but I like the ultraleggeras over the superturismos. I think the superturismos look great, but are heavy. Neat thing about the allegeritas are all the color options available. I had a set of superleggeras on one of my foresters and they looked fantastic.

Oz racing Alleggerita are $520 per rim. So $2080 for 4 rims and then $700 on top of that for tires.

Went with these instead. $1,600 with tires.
