Observations going back to stock

In preparation for colder weather and an upcoming oil change, I took off my Injen CAI and put the stock airbox back on the car. I left the battery disconnected the entire time and it was my first step before taking anything apart.

Once it was all back together and I double checked everything, I started it up to check for any check engine lights etc. All was good. I took it for a test drive.

  • Idle is lower, but also much smoother?
  • Part throttle accelleration is much smother
  • Throttle response seems a little better

The Idle was particularly noticeable since I have a SURE RMM.

Additionally, I noted the breather setup for the Injen runs a straight piece of tubing from the side of the intake to the crank case vent connection. There's no PCV valve.

I am wondering if this has anything to do with the smoother aspect of the stock box, or if the lack of air straighteners in the Injen are more likely responsible.

Thoughts?

Since this is primarily intake related I'm going to move it over to Engine, Transmission, and Drivetrain where the other intake conversation is going on.

multifactorial, but mainly a wipe of the ecu, which is relearning, and its relearning the maf it was made to learn
